Mager's & Quinn Book Signing

Pick up a signed copy of The Christmas Book Flood, a great gift for the children or grandchildren on your list, and meet Emily Kilgore.

For this special signing event, we appreciate RSVPs to help us gauge interest and estimate book quantity needs, but anyone is welcome to swing by! Click the register button to help us out.

A note about in person events:

We are very excited to bring authors and readers back together in our space, and we know you are too!

As we all navigate the transition back to congregating in person, we ask that you use honesty, care, and understanding in interacting with fellow event-goers, staff, and authors.

About the author:

Emily Kilgore is an educator and the author of the picture books The Whatifs and The Iheards. She wrote The Christmas Book Flood by candlelight while in Sweden. She lives in Minnesota. Learn more about her at emilykilgore.com.

About the book:

This lovely and lyrical picture book, based on a real Icelandic tradition, brings all the sparkle and anticipation of Christmas—and of the joys of reading—to the page. THE CHRISTMAS BOOK FLOOD Release Party!

The northern lights dance, snow blankets the ground; it’s the Christmas season—so the Book Flood begins! Celebrate the launch of The Christmas Book Flood, the new seasonal picture book by local author, Emily Kilgore!

This lovely and lyrical picture book, based on a real Icelandic tradition, brings all the sparkle and anticipation of Christmas—and the joys of reading—to the page. Join Emily Kilgore and your friends at Red Balloon for a cozy evening's reading of what's sure to be a holiday hit. Emily will also share about The Christmas Book Flood, this special Icelandic tradition, and take questions from the audience. After all that, there will be a good ole signing line!

To Attend: Space is limited, so a ticket is required to attend this event. You can register for a ticket through November 1, 4:30pm, and pre-order a book below. Additional books will be available for purchase the night of the event.

Signing Guidelines: Following the reading, Emily will sign and personalize copies of her books. If you would prefer not to stay for the signing portion, Red Balloon is happy to have your books signed and personalized for you and will contact you when they're ready to be picked up.

THE IHEARDS Storytime Release Party!

Have you heard? Red Balloon is having an in-person celebration with local author Emily Kilgore in honor of her newest picture book, The Iheards

In this timely, back-to-school story from the author/illustrator team who brought you The Whatifs, Mason is constantly gossiping about everyone. Because of this, the Iheards love him. They sneak up to him and whisper all kinds of rumors in his ear: real things or pretend, innocent or mean. Join us at Red Balloon for an evening storytime with Emily as she reads from and talks all about The IheardsThe reading will be followed by a Q&A and signing line. Attendees are also welcome to very special Iheard stickers and themed treats!

To Attend: Space is limited, so a ticket is required to attend this event. You can register for a ticket through September 7, 4:30pm, and pre-order a book below. Additional books will be available for purchase the night of the event. Face coverings are required of all guests for the duration of this event, and food and drink are not allowed. Red Balloon will have disposable masks on hand if you find yourself without.
