My father was my first writing mentor. I also admire Cori Doerrfeld, Jane Yolen, Melissa Sweet, Jessie Sima, Carter Higgins, Corinna Luyken, Salina Yoon, Jacqueline Woodson, Kate DiCamillo, Dan Santat, and David Litchfield.
Do you write every day?
Yes! Writing encompasses emails, checklists, and texts—constant practice that sharpens clarity and purpose in my picturebook work.
Are you working on anything else right now?
I'm exploring nonfiction and poetry but cannot share specifics at this time.
